Two series. One tank in either case.

CE models treat domestic strength wastewater to NSF/ANSI 40. CEN models are the same idea with media and recirculation tuned for nitrogen, certified to NSF/ANSI 40/245. Neither needs a septic tank ahead of it.

CE: treatment

Contact filtration with flow equalisation, continuous recirculation and controlled discharge, producing around 95% BOD and TSS removal across more than 3,500 field samples worldwide and third-party NSF testing in the United States.

CE5, CE7, CE10 cover most single-family work from three bedrooms up to eight, at 500, 700 and 1,000 gallons per day.

CEN: treatment and nitrogen removal

Proprietary continuous recirculation of process water, and media designed to grow nitrogen-reducing bacteria. Field testing in Suffolk County, Maryland, Virginia and Florida returned total nitrogen of 11.0 to 14.4 mg/L against a Category 1 standard of under 19.

Where a watershed is under nutrient pressure, and in Rhode Island and along the Massachusetts south coast that is a growing share of the map, this is the one to be drawing.

39 decibels, up to 100 ft away

Four zones, no moving parts inside the tank.

The only mechanical component is a linear diaphragm blower sitting above grade, which can be up to a hundred feet from the tank and runs at library-quiet thirty-nine decibels.

Servicing one

Semi-annual, and mostly a matter of turning control dials to purge biofilm growth from the media. A visit including solids backwash runs twenty to thirty minutes. No component removal, no hose-down.

Sludge is stored efficiently; typical pump-out is once every two to three years depending on use and influent strength. Blowers last around five years and rebuild kits are inexpensive and available through certified distributors.

Above grade, afterwards

Three at-grade covers of 20″ and 24″ diameter are the only visible sign of the system. The blower is football-sized and easily screened, and the alarm panel is small enough to be unobtrusive.

Commercial models (CE14, CE21, CE30, CE6KG and the CEN14 and CEN21) carry the same architecture at larger flows. Call for sizing on anything above residential.
